Greensboro Aquatic Center Hosts U.S. Synchronized Swimming 2012 Olympic Team Trials

News

The Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) has quickly established itself as a premier venue for competitive swimming and aquatic events. At its ribbon-cutting ceremony, the facility was awarded a prestigious honor—hosting the 2012 U.S. Synchronized Swimming Olympic Team Trials on November 11-14, 2011.

This four-day competition will bring together America’s top synchronized swimmers, all vying for a spot on Team USA for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. With its state-of-the-art amenities, exceptional pool design, and strong local support, Greensboro was the natural choice for such a high-profile event.

“For us, Greensboro was a natural fit to host this event. The staff at the Greensboro Aquatic Center and Greensboro Area Convention & Visitors Bureau have gone above and beyond to provide us with everything we are looking for in a facility.”

🌊 Exciting Community Engagement – The event will bring synchronized swimming into the spotlight, allowing fans and spectators to witness elite athletes perform at their highest level.

A Milestone Moment for Greensboro Aquatic Center

The Greensboro Aquatic Center is still in its first year of operation, yet it has already secured one of the most prestigious events in U.S. synchronized swimming history.

GAC Manager Susan Braman emphasized the significance of this opportunity:

“Hosting an Olympic Team Trial is a tremendous honor, and we are thrilled to land such a prestigious event in our first year of operation.”

“We are very excited to be working with USA Synchro to make this special event memorable for all the participants, their families, and spectators.”
