A Vision to Modernize a Historic Community Asset
Nestled in the heart of Springfield Township, the Flourtown Country Club has served the local community since the early 1920s. Recognizing the aging condition of its aquatic amenities, Springfield Township retained Wallover Architects and Wallover Aquatics to evaluate, plan, and reimagine a state-of-the-art swimming pool complex that meets the needs of modern users while respecting the club’s unique operational structure.
Unlike most country clubs, the Flourtown Country Club is municipally owned and privately leased—a rare model that balances public ownership with private membership. This dynamic prompted extensive discussions across the community regarding how best to approach the renovation and ensure both operational success and long-term value.
